ÅTERFALLSBEGREPPET En diskursanalys

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Socialhögskolan

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to illustrate the problems with relapse as a concept from the point of view and experiences of staff in addictiontreatment programmes and social welfare secretaries. To attain this purpose we focused on the following questions: · In what way is relapse defined in the different discourses? · How does the different discourses view the individual responsibility in a relapse situation? · In what ways does the discourses like and differ in their view on relapse? · What consequence does the discourses view on relapse bring in the life of the individual? We made interviews with social welfare secretaries and staff in two different addictiontreatment programmes. We used the interviews to make a discourse analysis. A discourse can be explained as a statement that produces an interpretation of the world. The discourseanalytic task is to find patterns in the text and to discuss what social consequences different discourses lead to. We found areas of consensus and conflict between the three discourses. The areas of consensus deal with concrete situations in work with addiction treatment. The areas of conflict deal with the way relapse is defined and the basic view on addiction.
