Sammanfattning: Conservative Party in UK has been in the lead during the migration crisis from Ex- Yugoslavia in 1992, and during the migration crisis in 2015. The debate has been about uncontrolled immigration with threats and challenges as consequences. The aim of this thesis is to study the contents of the UK Conservative Party's immigration policy ideas and understand them based on securitization theory. The method chosen for the survey is a qualitative contextual analysis of ideas. Party ideas are analyzed in relation to the theory and the ideal types. The result shows that the Conservative Party's immigration policy ideas acted almost equally on internal security, cultural security and welfare safety during both periods. There is a clear difference in the party's ideas on securitization of migration. At immigration from Ex-Yugoslavia the party reasoned on improving the efficiency of the migration system and a reduction in the number of immigrants on the basis of the security. The ideas during migration crisis in 2015 was not as much about efficiency but more on the reduction of social services for immigrants awaiting decisions. A clear similarity is the party's reasoning concerning the cultural security.
