Faktorer som kan påverka sjuksköterskans attityd gentemot patienter med självskadebeteende. En litteraturstudie.
Sammanfattning: Abstrakt Self-harming patients is a problem nurses’ faces in their everyday work. In Sweden approximately 7800 people is hospitalised due to self-harm. The aim of this study is to examine what factors influences nurses’ attitudes and care towards patient who self-harm. This study reviewed previous studies on this subject and collected nine articles that had relevance towards the aim. The result found that ambivalent feelings, education, workplace and colleagues’ attitudes and experience were factors that affected the nurses’ attitude and feeling of being able to provide correct care. An awareness of how attitude and feelings easily reflected in the nurses’ response to treatment and the significance of the patient’s experience and future approach to care helps the nurses to make the right priorities and provide good care.
