Sammanfattning: A group of scientist, called the council of democracy in Sweden made a prediction about members of political parties, in 2013 members should not exist. In this essay that statement going to be questioned. It shows that most of the political parties loses members in Sweden. The only differences from year 2000 and now is that in 14 years the parties has lost 65000 members, between 1991-1999 it was about 220000 members. Something has changed. After researching about the confidence of political organs, the voter turnout, campaign parties, care of members in political parties and the state funding, it becomes clear why the parties loses members. The conclusion is that people do not identify them self with parties as they use to in the past, parties do not take care of the members enough for them to stay and the discussion about ideology has gone missing. About the statement, it shows that there are political members today and because of the changes in the confidence in politics and rise of new political parties it is hard to see a point when all members will leave. There is going to be a minimum point in the future, but it is difficult to say a point zero.
