Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study is to make researches into the experiences of the social welfare secretaries about the work of the organization with streamlining from cost- and client efficiency with emphasis on units that work with children and youths as well as welfare. The study was provided and accomplished by using a qualitative method and semi structured interviews. Five social welfare secretaries were interviewed. The analysis is discussed by using the terminology and concepts of Sennett, the bureaucratic pyramid and the MP3-player. The results of the study ensued in client efficiency that in turn turned into cost efficiency and organizations with a clear structure have all the necessary qualities of streamlining.
