Sammanfattning: There are several environmental issues connected to the clothing industry. During the beginning of the 21st century, an economic model named circular economy emerged. The practical meaning of circular economy is that materials should not be thrown away, but reused or recycled. In that way, the consumption waste can be reduced. The traditional economy, the linear economy, produces waste at the end of a product’s life cycle, which means new raw material constantly needs to be extracted. A possible solution for the environmental issues is for the clothing companies to leave the linear economy for the circular economy. The research question in this thesis is how a transition to circular economy possibly could affect a company’s management. Companies working with circular economy have been interviewed and theories regarding circular economy and management have been read to answer this research question. The results show that the management of circular economy, in contrast to linear economy, needs to contain more communication towards the costumers, more education within the company and more demands on external parties.
