Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

Sammanfattning: Since the mid 90s more focus has been put on the problems surrounding hooliganism, especially in the media. This began when football referee Anders Frisk was injured during a football game. Nowadays, the police use more and more resources to prevent the problems with hooliganism and new laws have been instituted to handle the problem. More and more politicians, football players, coaches, and club managers mention the problem with hooliganism. The Swedish football federation, the Swedish football clubs and Swedish elite football are also working on more actions to prevent hooliganism. In 2011 the swedish government assigned a national coordinator to work with questions surrounding hooliganism. This essay will analyse whether there has been a securitization of hooliganism, and how various actors has commented on hooliganism, where the approach is from a case study perspective of empirical nature and the main focus will be on the Copenhagen school. When looking at all the facts, a securitization of hooliganism can be seen. The phenomenon has been presented as a threat by various actors like the government, media, football clubs, the football federation etc. The Swedish people has accepted the arguments and that action is needed.
