Sammanfattning: With this work I would like to manifest that there are good possibilities to grow lignosaes and perennials in cultivation zone VI in Sweden. This is due to the protective snow cover during winter and the abundant sunlight during the summer season. The report also want to highlight that there are possibilities to grow plants that are not supposed to be hardy in this climate through creating better micro climates in the garden. The case study is about the garden of my childhood in Brunflo, Jämtland, which is located in the cultivation zone VI, in the middle of Sweden. The case study demonstrates the potential to grow in cold climates and shows the possibilities through the study of lignosaes and perennials that grew in the garden and come to conclusions from how they developed through the years by studying the ligneous and perennials that grew in the garden and draw conclusions based on how they developed over the years. This through the study of the lignosaes and perennials that grew in the garden and assimilate that with the literature, the study of the garden’s micro climate and render plan for the plants and lists of plants. My parents created plant beds with granite as curb stone since granite store heat. Peter Korn (2012, s.248-251) writes in his book Peter Korns trädgård odling på växternas villkor about how the ability for stone to store the heat which protects the roots of the plants. My parents also created shelter in the garden with the help of planking, a high fence and tall trees. To improve the micro climate in the garden with the help of creating bield is something that Maria Sandström (2003, s.33-35) writes about in her book Trädgård i kallt klimat. Also the climate, the cultivation zone, how snow cover and light affect the plants is studied. In addition I have studied the soil type of the site and how micro climate can improve the habitat. Eight lignosaes and perennialsexotic for the place that grew in the garden were selected and considered closer. This was made through observing what affected that these plants survived despite that the literature claims that they are not hardy in cultivation zone VI. The review showed that some of the plants ceased to flower after a few years so that their value as decoration became less interesting. The years when the plants blossomed they were a nice decoration in the garden and with their exotic appearance they were rare in the cold climate Comparisons with literature, the study of the micro climates of the garden and the reviews of how my parents have gone about, moving plants and improving the micro climate for the reformation and evolution of the plants to make them evolve and thrive so that they will flourish was made.
