PlugInPump : En förbättring av arbetsmiljön och produktionshastigheten vid tillslutning av pumpflaskor.
Sammanfattning: This project is done in collaboration with the company Almén Cosmetic. Almén already operates an active production system mostly producing liquid products filled in pump bottles. Currently assembly of the pump bottles is done manually. This task is monotonous and is ergonomically wrong for the staff. Additionally, it is an obstacle for increasing the production speed, as the bottles are closed at the maximum speed the staff can handle manually. Plug In Pump is a project which addresses this problem with the aim of improving working environment and production speed. The company provided a list of requirements, which provided guidance for the solution, with the emphasis on safety, cost and surface area. Assembling the pump bottles is a problem you would like to automate using a machine. Considering that a machine can be manufactured cheaper when doing less work, it is preferable that the pump station is sorted to facilitate picking. After market research and evaluation of different concepts, it was clear that a linear module is the most suitable solution for the project. In addition, the pumps should be organized using a tray in the form of a rail. Two primary movements are required to pick a pump from a predefined position and then assembling it on the bottle. One movement in the form of a sideway motion and another in the form of a rotating motion. The sideway motion requires free movement in two dimensions. A linear module can be adapted to move a variety of dimensions. The linear module in this project is a two-axle consisting of two parts; machine rack and electronic control. The solution meets all the requirements that was set at the start of the project. In addition, it solves the problem with a good margin within the budget.
