    Sammanfattning : This study looks at the meeting between secularization, Christian political mobilization, and national socialism in Western Sweden during the first half of the twentieth century. The study follows the ideological developments of the Christian newspaper Göteborgs Stifts-Tidning, their organization into the political party Kyrkliga Folkpartiet and their increasing ties to both the Swedish and German national socialism parties and ideologies during the 1930s.     Sammanfattning : This bachelor's thesis is a study of the phenomenon “creeping fruit trees” and their methods for cultivation in the North of Sweden during the 1940s and 1950s. The cultivation of these trees were part of state experiments to find hardy fruit trees to replace approximately a quarter of the fruit trees in Sweden which froze to death during the cold winters of 1939-1942.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of this essay has been to, with a gender perspective, study the way through which the Swedish sobriety committees handled cases of women abusing alcohol during the 1930s. Due to alcohol abuse being historically perceived as a male concern the study aims to enlighten the fact that women, even though it was highly unusual, also abused alcohol and that their abuse was perceived differently due to diverse normative gender perceptions.     Sammanfattning : Since the 1930s, a dance permit regulation has been in effect in Sweden. The dance permit is required for public dance events in Sweden, and police may take photographic evidence of patrons moving in sync with the music in a dance-like fashion if they believe that ‘illegal’ dancing has transpired in an establishment that may not have filed for a dance permit.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to examine the experience of modernity, and how it related to the process of establishing and determining one’s individual identity. By studying the protocols from discussion seminars on contemporary topics attended by students at Swedish folk high school Wiks folkhögskola in the 1920s and 1930s, the study explores how the students defined themselves in relation to societal changes as well as how they evaluated what they considered to be modern versus traditional.
