Pine plantations in the southern US have increased from 1.8 million acres (728,400 ha) in the beginning of the 1950’s to 32 million acres (13 million ha) in the beginning of the 21st century, and cover 17 % of the forest land.     Sammanfattning : I den här uppsatsen undersöker jag om det finns en korrelation mellan den japanska konstnären Yayoi Kusamas tidiga konst i New York under 1950- och 1960-talet, och traditionellt japanskt konsthantverk, med särskilt fokus på Shibori, den metod som används för att färga tyg. Det finns tydliga visuella likheter, men också likheter i materialitet och i det taktila hantverket, mellan den teknik och metod som används i Shibori, och Kusamas så kallade Soft Sculptures. LÄS MER
