1. Combining Cell Painting, Gene Expression and Structure-Activity Data for Mechanism of Action Prediction
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Nationellt resurscentrum för biologi och bioteknikSammanfattning : The rapid progress in high-throughput omics methods and high-resolution morphological profiling, coupled with the significant advances in machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), has opened new avenues for tackling the notoriously difficult problem of predicting the Mechanism of Action (MoA) for a drug of clinical interest. Understanding a drug's MoA can enrich our knowledge of its biological activity, shed light on potential side effects, and serve as a predictor of clinical success. LÄS MER
2. Att känna konsten : Att tänka genom kroppen
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Konstvetenskapliga institutionenSammanfattning : This study examines whether and how art, through its capacity for transformation, can promote empathy, provide insight into built-in prejudices and open up for new perspectives. The thesis analyzes three works of art: the film Love is the Message, the Message is Death, by Arthur Jafa, Go Gone, a textile sculpture group by Moa Israelsson and Modern sovande, a painting by Åke Göransson. 3. Takmåleri och perception – Att spåra möten mellan sinnesförnimmelser och takmåleriets konstitution
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Konstvetenskapliga institutionenSammanfattning : This study investigates the perceptual effect of ceiling painting on the viewer in relation to spatiality. Three case studies have been conducted of ceiling paintings by Johan Sylvius from 1690, Karl XI's gallery at Drottningholm Palace; Karl Axel Pehrson Transfigurata from 1978, at Thielska Gallery; and by Malin Gabriella Nordin from 2021, at the restaurant Ricordi, all in Stockholm Sweden. 4. Analyzing Cell Painting images using different CNNs and Conformal Prediction variations : Optimization of a Deep Learning model to predict the MoA of different drugs
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för visuell information och interaktionSammanfattning : Microscopy imaging based techniques, such as the Cell Painting assay, could be used to generate images that visualize the Mechanism of Action (MoA) of a drug, which could be of great use in drug development. In order to extract information and predict the MoA of a new compound from these images we need powerful image analysis tools. LÄS MER
5. Improving ligand-based modelling by combining various features
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för farmaceutisk biovetenskapSammanfattning : Background: In drug discovery morphological profiles can be used to identify and establish a drug's biological activity or mechanism of action. Quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) is an approach that uses the chemical structures to predict properties e.g., biological activity. LÄS MER
