  1. 1. Petrography of impactites from the Dellen impact structure, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Robert Mroczek; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Dellen; Impact; structure; magnetite; apatite; shock waves; shock-metamorphic; features; Impactite; petrography; scanning electron microscope; SEM; geology; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Identification and characterization of shock-metamorphic features in hypervelocity impact craters is important for our understanding of how shock waves interact with geologic materials and how impact craters form, which in turn is essential to our understanding of what role impact cratering played in the development of our solar system. Of particular interest are accessory minerals like apatite, which contains various volatiles that can affect the atmosphere of a body, or magnetite whose magnetic properties constitute a remote sensing indicator which allows us to study and understand the internal structures of distant bodies. 2. 2. Väder- och klimatförändringars effekter på produktivitet och sedimentation i en boreal sjö

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Albin Eriksson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Chlorophyll; Climate-change; Paleolimnology; Sediment traps; Freeze-coring; Klorofyll; Klimatförändringar; Paleolimnologi; Sedimentfällor; Frysproppar;

    Sammanfattning : This report aimed to investigate how chlorophyll-concentrations (Chl-a) in the water column and varved sediments were affected by changes in air temperature and precipitation and consequently how climate change will affect the sedimentation and productivity in boreal aquatic ecosystems. VRS (visible-reflectance-spectroscopy) was used to asses Chl-a and its derivates in sediment trap samples between 2002-2021 and in a series of freeze cores (1979-2021) from lake Nylandssjön, with annually laminated sediments. 3. 3. Water quality and organic matter linkages in waters draining arable fields

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Adam Eriksson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Natural organic matter NOM ; particular organic matter POM ; dissolved organic matter DOM ; allochthonous; autochthonous; Florescence index FIX ; Freshness index BIX ; Humification index HIX ; SUVA 254; E2:E3; Spectral Slope; Observation fields; microbial matter; humic matter; unfiltered samples UF ; filtered samples F45 ;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigated leaching of natural organic matter (NOM) in twelve Swedish arable fields with regards to the quality of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and particulate organic matter (POM), using Absorbance (UV-Vis) and fluorescence spectrometry (EEM). DOM is defined as organic matter (OM) 0.45 μm. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Odensjön - A new varved lake sediment record from southern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Hanna Hertzman; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Varved lake sediment; late Holocene; organic sediments; diatoms; land-use history; southern Sweden; palaeolimnology; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Annually laminated (varved) sediments provide opportunities to reconstruct climate change and human impact on the environment with high temporal resolution. Depending on the character of the varves, such sediments can provide insight into the delivery of both autochthonous and allochthonous material from the lake and its catch- ment and answer questions regarding both regional and local responses to climate- and land-use changes. 5. 5. Influence of land cover changes on organic carbon and organic nitrogen concentrations in Swedish rivers

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Julia Iwan; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Total Organic Carbon TOC ; Total Organic Nitrogen TON ; Land Cover Change; Sweden; WaterBase; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : There is increasing pressure on freshwater systems due to excessive nutrient loading by anthropogenic sources. In Sweden, freshwaters have become browner due to increasing exports of organic matter from soils into streams, rivers, and lakes. LÄS MER
