1. Acquired and lost structure-functions of non-enveloped and enveloped viruses
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : Viruses are biological entities that constantly affect the world around us and in many cases they can harm the health of humans and negatively impact food production, in agriculture andfisheries. The project concept is that, through the structural studies of viruses that infectsimple hosts, it is possible to point out structural features that are unique and conserved inviruses, that infect human, other animals, and crops, in the same phylogenetic lineage. 2.
3. Investigation of possible improvements of the stability of bispecific ADAPT proteins
Master-uppsats, KTH/ProteinvetenskapSammanfattning : The aim of the project was to identify positions and amino acids that contribute to improved structure and stability of bispecific ADAPT proteins. During the 20 weeks project period, different amino acid substitutions were analysed to evaluate the effect on the three-helical structure and stability of bispecific ADAPTs targeting human serum albumin (HSA) and tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα). 4. Characterization of co-infections and minor variants of BK polyomavirus in clinical sample by NGS
Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologiSammanfattning : BK polyomavirus (BKV) is associated with urinary apparatus pathogenesis in kidney transplant recipient. Immune suppression triggers BKV reactivation that potentially causes polyomavirus associated nephropathy (PVAN), a major post-transplant problem causes graft rejection. LÄS MER
5. Enzyme engineering of a haloacid dehalogenase-like phosphatase from Thermotoga neopolitana for optimization of substrate specificity
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master)Sammanfattning : Haloacid dehalogenase (HAD)-like hydrolases represent a vast superfamily characterised by their ability to form covalent enzyme-substrate intermediates facilitating the cleavage of C-Cl, C-P, or CO-P bonds. Within this work one member of this superfamily, HAD from Thermotoga neopolitana (HADTn) exhibiting a phosphatase (P-O bond cleavage) like activity was investigated in the context of altering the substrate specificity.
