  1. 1. Transverse Momentum Spectra in pp collisions (\sqrt{s}\) = 7 TeV and \(\sqrt{s}\) = 13 TeV in ALICE

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Sammanfattning : In this project particle production as a function of transverse momentum (\(p_{\rm T}\)) in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy (\(\sqrt{s}\)) of 7 TeV and 13 TeV has been studied. The transverse momentum is interesting to study since it reflects momentum created in the collision (before the collision, all momentum is in the beam - going in a longitudinal direction) and therefore gives information on the collision dynamics. 2. 2. Towards the control of photo-ionization with electron wave-packet interferences

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Andreas Stokkeland; [2020]
    Nyckelord :XUV attosecond pulses; photoelectron distribution; photoionization; phase shift; electron wave-packet interference; infrared field; IR-field; frequency components; Fourier transform; XUV photons; frequency domain; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In this work the photoelectric effect is explored through simulations of the phase shift that an IR-field can induce into an electron wave packet and the photoelectron distribution over frequency components that is produced in the photoionization of an atom with a attosecond pulses made of XUV photons. The IR-field is sent along two attosecond pulses made of XUV photons towards a 3D momentum spectrometer were there is a gas that can be photoionized and the photoelectrons can be measured. LÄS MER
