    Sammanfattning : In the last few decades, dissatisfaction with the prevailing critical paradigm ¬– what Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick as early as 1997 dubbed “paranoid” or “suspicious” reading – has grown significantly. This thesis is a survey of three recent works, The Albertine Workout (2014), Unfinished Business: Notes of A Chronic Re-Reader (2020), and A Ghost in the Throat (2020), that emerge from this discontent. Syftet med vårt examensarbete var att, utifrån semistrukturerade intervjuer och bildanalyser av utbildningsmiljöer, undersöka möjlighetsskapande normer i barns livsvärldar inom förskole- och skolsammanhang samt att söka förståelse för hur vuxnas normer påverkar vilka möjligheter barn ges i den kontext som de befinner sig i.     Sammanfattning : Anne Charlotte Leffler, Victoria Benedictsson and Frida Stéenhoff were all part of the Modern Breakthrough in Swedish literature. By utilizing Jürgen Habermas theoretical works on communicative action, and Nancy Fraser’s supplementary reading of his theory, this essay makes clear that the authors’ struggle for an understanding and a rethinking of social norms in their plays Skådespelerskan (1873), Romeos Julia (1888) and Lejonets unge (1896) can be read as a contribution to the public debate.
