  1. 1. Decay Chains of Fast Alpha Emitters in the Actinide Region

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Författare :Tanvir Sayed; [2024]
    Nyckelord :alpha decay; alpha emissions; fine structure; decay chain; decay scheme; alpha spectrometry; actinide; nucleus; nuclear structure; nuclear states; energy levels; uranium isotopes; U310 experiment; parasitic runs; decay station; TASISpec ; moving window deconvolution; digitisers; alpha-gamma coincidence; 221-Th decay; fine structure of alpha decay to 217-Ra; GSI; Gamow s theory; Geiger-Nuttall; chain search; short half-lives; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : With the advent of increasingly advanced spectroscopic instruments after the turn of the century, it has become accessible to unravel the structure of instantly ‘vanishing’ nuclei, with lifetimes as short as 1 μs, and responsible for pile-up events in analog electronics. Experimental data has been recorded by the Nuclear Structure Group at Lund University for 48Ca/50Ti + nat. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Linking the selectivity of varying surface phases of a real palladium catalyst toward specific methane oxidation pathways with Ambient Pressure X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Ulrike Küst; [2023]
    Nyckelord :APXPS; catalysis; palladium; methane; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : The study of heterogeneous catalysis, especially within methane oxidation, is of high importance in order to more efficiently remove unburned methane from bio-fuel exhausts. This is relevant as bio-fuel engines will replace those driven by fossil fuels in the coming decades. LÄS MER

  3. 3. B-plane orbital resonance analysis and applications

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Rymdteknik

    Författare :Alessandro Masat; [2020]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Many space engineering and orbital mechanics applications seek for the usage of focused mathematical models, capable of providing useful insight onto particular phenomena or exploiting some theoretical and physical tools to reduce the computational costs and/or increase the level of accuracy reached. Orbital resonances are one of the phenomena that needs to be properly modelled, both for exploiting such features in the mission design phase and to predict possible resonant returns of threatening objects closely approaching a specified planet. 4. 4. Analysis of Walking and Route-Choice Behavior of Pedestrians inside Public Transfer Stations : A Study on how pedestrians behave in the approaching vicinity of level-change facilities,and how it affects their walking and route-choice behavior

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Transportplanering

    Författare :Daniel Monte Malveira; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Pedestrian Walking Behavior; Pedestrian Route-Choice Behavior; Approaching Vicinity; Surrounding Environment; T-analyst; VISSIM; microsimulation.;

    Sammanfattning : Pedestrian walking and choice behavior presented was first studied by Fruin in 1971, and since then a lot of research have been carried out in order to understand how humans move and what does make them make choices and obtain certain patterns. In relation to pedestrians, a significant bottleneck inside public stations evaluated by research are the level-change facilities, as Stair Walks and Escalators. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Ice condensation as a planet formation mechanism

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Katrin Ros; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In models of dust growth in protoplanetary discs focus is typically on coagulation, a mechanism which unfortunately seems incapable of forming particles larger than centimeters. The main reasons for this are that collisions between larger particles lead to bouncing or fragmentation rather than sticking, and that particles approaching meter-sizes drift radially inwards in the disc due to interaction with the surrounding gas.
