1. Raman Spectroscopy for Characterizing Porous carbon
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/FörbränningsfysikSammanfattning : Porous carbon obtained from low cost and abundant biomass has gained attention as renewable material feedstock. In this study, porous carbon biochar produced through pyrolysis was investigated by Raman spectroscopy to disclose the structural properties. LÄS MER
2. Hydrothermally carbonized wood as a component in biobased material for 3D-printing
L2-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)Sammanfattning : Consumers put higher demands on low environmental impact from the products they use, and the materials they consist of. As a result, more research is being made on finding environmentally friendly production techniques and materials. Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is a relatively environmentally friendly method that has been used in this study. LÄS MER
3. Exploiting excited-state aromaticity for the design of efficient molecular motors : A quantum chemical study
Kandidat-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologiSammanfattning : In this work, a study of a recent approach in the design of light-driven molecular motors is presented. The approach involves enabling part of the motor to obtain aromatic-like properties through photoexcitation, and is found to significantly facilitate the rotary motion by reducing the barriers normally present in the excited-state potential energy surfaces of rotary motors. 4. Production and biodegradability of dissolved organic carbon from dIfferent litter sources
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : The movement of carbon on Earth is based on exchange between pools that represent carbon in different physical forms, differing in chemical composition, structure and function. Dissolved organic carbon plays an important role in ecosystems because of its mobility, which can be relatively high in saturated soils, and because it is the most available fraction of organic matter for microorganisms in soil, being particularly active in microbial degradation processes through soil profile. 5. Organic carbon fluxes in a boreal catchment : spatial study of bioavailability and importance of the riparian zone
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Aquatic Sciences and AssessmentSammanfattning : Organic carbon as an important water quality factor was investigated in 13 riparian zones (RZs) and 14 stream sites in the 67 km2 boreal Krycklan catchment in Northern Sweden during 2008 to 2009. For comparisons of up- and downslope locations, also three sites with different distances to the stream were analysed. LÄS MER
