  1. 1. Relationship between Fatigue Properties and Surface Treatment of Aluminum Alloy

    H-uppsats,

    Författare :Umair Ali Khan; Soroosh Zahedi; [2023-09-14]
    Nyckelord :Corrosion resistance; Fatigue; Aluminium alloys; HPDC; PMC; Sheet Metal; Anodization Molding; Casting;

    Sammanfattning : Corrosion has posed a significant challenge within the maritime sector for numerousyears. In the 21st century, bolstering the corrosion resistance of alloys, particularlyaluminum alloys, has become paramount. Aluminum alloys find widespread use inpropulsion systems, boat hulls, and cargo vessels. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Erosion Behaviour of Thermal Barrier Coatings

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Konstruktionsmaterial

    Författare :Caroline Wännman; [2021]
    Nyckelord :erosion; TBC; APS; EB-PVD; PS-PVD; failure mechanisms;

    Sammanfattning : Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are advanced material systems used in the hot sections of gas turbines. The TBCs are designed to provide insulation against hot gases by a ceramic top coat and to provide oxidation and corrosion resistance by a metallic bond coat. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Corrosion initiation induced by sodium sulfate and sodium chloride particles on Cu and the golden alloy Cu5Al5Zn at simulated atmospheric conditions

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Weijie Zhao; [2017]
    Nyckelord :atmospheric corrosion; sodium sulfate; sodium chloride; Cu5Al5Zn; Cu metal; mixed salt pre-deposition; laboratory exposure; LOM; SEM EDS; ATR-FTIR; cathodic reduction;

    Sammanfattning : Effects of sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) particle deposition on the atmospheric corrosion of copper (Cu) metal and a Cu-based alloy (Cu5Al5Zn) used in architectural applications were investigated at laboratory conditions compared with effects induced by sodium chloride (NaCl) and to some extent ammonium sulfate (NH4)2SO4 induced corrosion. Pre-deposited surfaces were exposed to repeated wet/dry conditions in a climatic chamber and the formation of corrosion products were assessed using light optical microscopy (LOM), scanning electron microscopy with elemental analysis (SEM/EDS), Fourier transform infrared techniques (FTIR microscopy) and cathodic reduction (CR). 4. 4. Corrosion of zinc in the automotive environment ‐ Relation Between Corrosion Rate, Corrosion Products and Exposure Site

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Författare :Sanna Jonsson; [2012]
    Nyckelord :zinc; atmospheric corrosion; automotive environment; de‐icing salt; corrosion products;

    Sammanfattning : In a previous project, mobile exposures in road environments have been performed in various areas of the world. A number of materials and coatings have been attached under trailers which travels long distances in different types of road environments. One of the materials, zinc, demonstrated various corrosion rates in different parts of the world. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of corrosion in crevices in screw joints

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Korrosionslära

    Författare :Philip Björlenstam; [2011]
    Nyckelord :Cervice corrosion; Screw joints; Corrosion protection; Atmospheric corrosion; GEOMET;

    Sammanfattning : In this Master of Science thesis screws with different coatings were exposed to an accelerated corrosion test in order to investigate the corrosion development. The test matrix constituted of hexagonal and flange screws (fastened on frames) coated with either zinc/iron (ZnFe) or a flake system of aluminum and zinc (GEOMET). LÄS MER
