The late rise of the Sweden Democrats, long considered an exception to the rule, as a successful radical right party, has attracted some academic interest and various explanations on what may have caused this sudden success.     Sammanfattning : The emergence of a new value-based societal cleavage has changed the political mobilization patterns in Europe and correlates with attitudes to immigrants, cultural diversity and European integration. Previous research has demonstrated that education is the single most important factor to understand different positions within this cleavage, although there is a lack of unity in the understanding of the importance of the influence of education.
