1. Metaller i Vombsjön - Mygglarver som bioindikator för miljöövervakning
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)Sammanfattning : This study investigates concentrations of eight metals (Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Hg, Cr, Ni, As) in the freshwater resource Lake Vomb, located in the south of Sweden (Scania), and explores the potential use of deformed Chironomidae larvae as bioindicator. Sediment samples from six locations were analysed against threshold values from the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and background values from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. 2. The ecotoxicity effect of metronidazole on Raphidocelis subcapitata
Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskapSammanfattning : Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata is a sickle-shaped freshwater green microalga that is normally found in unicellular form. It is the best known and most frequently used species of ecotoxicological bioindicator because of its high growth rate and sensitivity to toxicants. LÄS MER
3. Using the AudioMoth - a novel passive acoustic monitoring technology - to monitor bat diversity in a rewilded landscape
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental StudiesSammanfattning : Ecosystem restoration through the reintroduction of grazers is gaining interest across Europe. Large herbivores are associated with landscape heterogeneity, restoration of trophic cascades and biodiversity. LÄS MER
4. Bats in Urban Sweden : A multiple regression analysis of bats’ relationship to urbanization
Master-uppsats, Södertörns högskola/MiljövetenskapSammanfattning : Human development continues to use up more physical space in the natural world, threatening the natural habitats of many organisms. To combat the loss of biodiversity science needs to explore what landscape features are important for different organisms so that we can incorporate these into the modern environment. LÄS MER
5. Sex and tissue specific DNA methylation patterns in the house sparrow (Passer domesticus)
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : DNA methylation patterns are sex and tissue specific in many species, yet many studies useblood samples, due to its accessibility, to establish links between the DNA methylation anddifferent phenotypes. This raises the question of whether DNA methylation in blood samplesreflect the DNA methylation pattern in other tissues that are more relevant to the phenotypebeing studied. LÄS MER
