Through the theoretical framework, mainly consisting of Sara Ahmed’s The Cultural Politics of Emotion and Queer Phenomenology, I discuss how feelings such as desire and shame work through the subject and influence its relationship with their surroundings. I locate three sites of conflicts; socialism(s) and organization of power, feminism(s), and queer culture and approach them from a theoretical framework of primarily Foucault, Panebianco, Halley, Young, Fraser, and Butler. Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teologiska institutionenSammanfattning : Tracing the construction of gender neoliberalism in the United Kingdom with the context of austerity measures and increased social divisions stemming from the European Union referendum, this research analyses the way political discourses act to legitimize gender neoliberalism as the hegemonic rationality in the Conservative Party. Undertaking a comparative case study approach, this study aims to examine the evolution of neoliberal rationality in political discourses between the two female Prime Ministers of the country, namely, Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May. 14. Reproduction and Resistance : Female Bodies and Agency in the Sahrawi Liberation Struggle
Magister-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Umeå centrum för genusstudier (UCGS)Sammanfattning : This study sets out to investigate Sahrawi women’s understanding of maternities as bodily and embodied experiences of collective and individual resistance within the Sahrawi liberation struggle against the occupation of Western Sahara. By using the Sahrawi liberation front’s pronatalist politics as a starting point to explore Sahrawi women’s positioning in the liminal space between reproductive health and biological reproduction as a socio-political action, I draw on a decolonial understanding of agency to analyse the relationship between individual health and collective resistance – especially in correlation with the increase of humanitarian projects targeting sexual and reproductive health.
