  1. 1. Analysis of high-voltage low-current DC/DC converters for electrohydrodynamic pumps

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för elektroteknik

    Författare :Sigge Axelsson; Jonas Gartner; Axel Stafström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :high-voltage; low-current; low-power; DC DC; DC-DC; high-gain; converter; electrohydrodynamic pump; EHD; transformerless converter; Royer-based converter; resonant Royer oscillator; Cockroft-Walton voltage multiplier; CWVM; voltage multiplier; series-connected positive-negative voltage multiplier; SPNVM; planar air-core transformer; planar transformer; high-freqency Royer-based converter; overcurrent protection; LT8331; gallium nitride; GaN; planar PCB-integrated transformers;

    Sammanfattning : Moving parts cause vibrations and tend to wear out. In applications where maintenance is complicated, solutions without moving parts are therefore advantageous. Electrohydrodynamic pumps are such a solution. Instead of mechanical propulsion, they use strong electric fields to induce movement in a dielectric cooling liquid. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Design and evaluation of a battery power supply for a mobile XRF measurement system

    Master-uppsats, Mittuniversitetet/Institutionen för elektronikkonstruktion

    Författare :Xingyu Zhu; [2019]
    Nyckelord :XRF; Power; Battery; Boost-circuit; Buck-circuit; Voltage regulator;

    Sammanfattning : X-ray fluorescence is a fast, non-destructive method to measure substances. This method can be used to detect elements in an environmental sample for elemental analysis. Commercially available XRF units exists, but their scope of application is limited. In the university lab, a more generalized XRF setup is available. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Impact Study: Photo-voltaic Distributed Generation on Power System

    Master-uppsats, Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Författare :Smrutirekha Sahoo; [2016]
    Nyckelord :DC-AC inverter; DC-DC boost converter; Dynamic PV model; Grid-connected PV system; Harmonic distortion; LV grid-modelling; Overvoltage; THD; Voltage unbalancing; VSI;

    Sammanfattning : The grid-connected photo-voltaic (PV) system is one of the most promising renewable energy solutions which offers many benefits to both the end user and the utility network and thus it has gained the popularity over the last few decades. However, due to the very nature of its invariability and weather dependencies, the large scale integration of this type of distributed generation has created challenges for the network operator while maintaining the quality of the power supply and also for reliable and safe operations of the grids. 4. 4. Design of power supplies for Piezo LEGS and SiC experiment : KTH Student satellite MIST

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, KTH/Skolan för informations- och kommunikationsteknik (ICT)

    Författare :Simon Johansson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Silicon Carbide; Satellite; Electronics; Power Supply; Boost converter; Buck converter; Switching Converter; Linear Converter; PCB; Kiselkarbid; Satellit; Elektronik; Strömförsörjning; Boost regulator; Buck regulator; Switch-mode regulator; Linjär regulator; PCB;

    Sammanfattning : KTH is funding a project whose goal is to send a satellite into space. This project is called MIST (Miniature Student Satellite) which is assembled by a team of students at KTH. On the satellite there are experiments that are invented by other teams, in two of those experiments a power supply is required. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Enthalpy Based Boost Pressure Control

    Master-uppsats, Fordonssystem

    Författare :Emil Hilding; [2011]
    Nyckelord :Turbo; Controller; Model based; MVEM; Wastegate; Variable geometry turbine; Turbo; Regulator; Modellbaserad; Medelvärdesmotor;

    Sammanfattning : A turbo system is driven by the excess energy in the exhaust gases.  As a result, variation in exhaust temperature cause variations in  boost pressure. By using the information about the available exhaust  energy in the turbo controller directly through a feedforward  controller, an unexpected variation in turbo boost can be avoided. LÄS MER
