  1. 1. Do viscous flows slip?

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för matematiska vetenskaper

    Författare :Björn Sjösvärd; [2023-12-21]
    Nyckelord :Mathematics; partial differential equations; multivectors; Hodge de-compositions; the Stokes equation; Hodge boun;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the Stokes equation is discussed and solved under different boundary conditions. The Stokes equation governs the flow of viscous liquids, for example honey or syrup. The first chapters in the thesis provides an introduction to multivector algebra and analysis, with the aim of presenting the concept of Hodge decompositions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Moderling Acoustic Transmission in Towed Array Sonars : Computations of the coupled acoustic and elastic wave equations

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Matematik (Avd.)

    Författare :Bill Claesson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a method of solving the Helmholtz equation coupled with the Navier-Cauchy equation over a cross section of a Towed Array Sonar (TAS) modeled as a simplified cylindrical shell. The purpose of solving these equations is to estimate the transfer function of the pressure between the outside boundary and a position inside the TAS. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Simulering av vattenburen golvvärme med finita elementmetoden : värmeavgivning vid olika mönster för rörläggning

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap; Uppsala universitet/Byggteknik och byggd miljö

    Författare :Joakim Nyberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :comsol; finite element method; multiphysics; multiphysics simulation; PDE; DE; FEM; 4GDH; governing equations; simulering; comsol; vattenburen golvvärme; golvvärme; FEM; finita elementmetoden; PDE; partiella differentialekvationer; fjärde generationens fjärrvärme; 4GFV; EAS; värmesimulering;

    Sammanfattning : This report formulates the boundary conditions and discretization method for conducting a simulation of heat with liquids and solids through the finite element method. It introduces the reader to the movement that is due today with optimization of heat transport and mitigation generally described as the fourth generation of district heating. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On linear Reaction-Diffusion systems and Network Controllability

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Författare :Rebecka Aulin; Felicia Hage; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Turing s model of morphogenesis; FDM; FEM; Controllability; Minimal Control; Least Energy Control;

    Sammanfattning : In 1952 Alan Turing published his paper "The Chemical Basis of Morphogenesis", which described a model for how naturally occurring patterns, such as the stripes of a zebra and the spots of a leopard, can arise from a spatially homogeneous steady state through diffusion. Turing suggested that the concentration of the substances producing the patterns is determined by the reaction kinetics, how the substances interact, and diffusion. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Finite Element Simulation of Moisture Transport in Cellulose Insulation Material of Power Transformers

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad mekanik

    Författare :Luc Villibord; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Power Transformers are an important and complex part of the electrical transmission technology. One of the main producers of these transformers worldwide is Hitachi Energy, for which this work has been done. LÄS MER
