  1. 1. Characterization of DNA binding of the two zinc finger domains of transcription factor zBED6

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Alexander Taubert; [2019]
    Nyckelord :transcription factor; zinc finger; zBED6;

    Sammanfattning : The zinc finger protein, zBED6, is a transcriptional regulator of IGF2 along with hundreds of other genes relating to development and growth. Studies on the growth of commercially bred pigs discovered a single nucleotide substitution in the third intron of IGF2 which disrupts the binding of zBED6 and is responsible for the three-fold upregulation of IGF2 in skeletal muscle. 2. 2. Calibration and Application of Passive Sampling in Drinking Water for Perfluoroalkyl Substances

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Caroline Persson; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Perfluoroalkyl substances PFASs ; passive sampling; Polar organic compound integrative sampler POCIS ; sampling rate; calibration; application; drinking water; Perfluoroalkylsubstanser PFAS ; passiv provtagning; Polar organic compound integrative sampler POCIS ; provtagningsshastighet; kalibrering; tillämpning;

    Sammanfattning : Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are global environmental contaminants and a need for monitoring levels has arisen due to their persistency and their ability to bioaccumulate. One relatively novel method of monitoring for both long and short time intervals and generating time-weighted average (TWA) concentrations is passive sampling for which no power, maintenance and supervision is required. 3. 3. Djurbensmaterialet på Ajvide : En osteologisk analys och GIS-studie för att undersöka platsens användning och förändring över tid

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för arkeologi och antik historia

    Författare :Anders Gustavsson; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Gotland; Ajvide; Pitted Ware Culture; Middle Neolithic; animal bones; osteology; GIS; Gotland; Ajvide; Gropkeramiska kulturen; Mellanneolitikum; djurben; osteology; GIS;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the results from a osteological analysis and a GIS-study aimed to examinedifferences in the located animal bones in different areas of the excavation site of Ajvde. The osteological material came from five excavated square meters on the site and was comparedwith osteological results from other researchers from different areas to create overview and try tosee differences between the areas. 4. 4. Effects of pH and Cation Composition on Sorption of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFASs) to Soil Particles

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Malin Ullberg; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances PFASs ; Soil; Partitioning coefficients; Partitioning; sorption; solution chemistry; electrostatic interaction; Visual MINTEQ; Perfluoroalkylsubstanser PFAS ; jord; partitioneringskoefficienter; sorption; lösningske- mi; elektrostatisk interaction; Visual MINTEQ;

    Sammanfattning : Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) have drawn great attention recently, due to their environmental persistence, potential toxicity and global distribution. PFAS is a large family of substances, characterized by a perflourinated carbon chain and a functional group. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of the efficiency of treatment techniques in removing perfluoroalkyl substances from water

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Sandra Lundgren; [2014]
    Nyckelord :PFAS; removal efficiency; MIEX®; iron III chloride; Powdered activated carbon; nanofiltration membrane; dissolved organic carbon;

    Sammanfattning : Perfluoroalkylated substances (PFASs) are a group of synthetic compounds that have gained growing attention due to their environmental persistence, toxicity and their potential to bioaccumulate. Even though PFASs are not occurring naturally in our environment, they are globally distributed and can be found ubiquitously in air, water, soil, wildlife as well as in humans. LÄS MER
