1. Cenozoic history of North Atlantic deep sea carbonate preservation
Kandidat-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för geologiska vetenskaperSammanfattning : Carbonate preservation in the oceans occurs at a depth called the carbonate compensation depth (CCD). The CCD is where the input rate of carbonate from the surface of the ocean is balanced by the dissolution rate. LÄS MER
2. Sedimentary structures and facies of fine grained deep water carbonate turbidites in a Paleocene-Middle Eocene flysch complex, Monte Sporno, northern Apennines, Italy
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenSammanfattning : The Monte Sporno flysch unit consists of regularly alternating calcareous turbidites and subordinate hemipelagic clays, deposited in a basin plain environment near, but above, the calcite compensation depth (CCD). Evidence for turbidity current emplacement includes sole markings, Bouma intervals and resedimented shallow-water microfossil species in a deep-water trace fossil assemblage (Nereites ichnofacies).
