  1. 1. The Sound of Skepticism Analyzing Climate Change Denial in Swedish Podcasts and YouTube Channels

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / / Institutionen för sociologi och arbetsvetenskap

    Författare :Victoria Vallström; [2024-02-14]
    Nyckelord :denialism; climate skepticism; social movements; countermovements; digital media; digital data; computational grounded theory; topic modeling; computational text analysis;

    Sammanfattning : This study explores Sweden's climate change denial by analyzing the spoken-word discourse of its countermovement, focusing on digital media content from Swedish parliament member Elsa Widding with an aim to provide empirical insights into the discourse of Sweden's Climate Change Countermovement (CCCM). Questions guiding this study are: What are the most prevalent topics and themes related to climate change denial and skepticism? How do they align with established categories of climate change denial, shaping the overall narrative? What mobilizing ideas and meanings are present, how are they shaped, and how do they contribute to the movement's goals? The material consists of Elsa Widding's complete audio-based "movement texts'' from 2019-2023, including YouTube content, podcasts, and appearances on Riks, totaling over 2000 minutes of audio transcribed into text via AI technology. 2. 2. Gas Chromatographic Method Development for Analysis of Samples from a Carbon Capture Pilot Plant

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :David Wedin; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Carbon Capture and Storage; CCS; AMP DMSO; Gas Chromatography; amine absorption; analysis method development; Chemical Engineering; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In response to the escalating threat of climate change, carbon capture and storage have gained increasing attention as an important component in mitigating the global carbon dioxide emissions. Substantial research efforts have focused on enhancing the energy efficiency and availability of these technologies. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Temperature Shocks and Price Stability

    D-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomi

    Författare :Klara Strömberg; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Climate Change; Price Stability; Local Projections; United Kingdom;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the interplay between temperatures and prices in an advanced economy context. To this end, I estimate the impulse response to a 1°C temperature anomaly on the UK economy. LÄS MER

  5. 5. How do rainfall patterns change microbial induced carbon dynamics in soil?

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Författare :Maria João Silva; [2023]
    Nyckelord :drying and rewetting; bacterial growth; fungal growth; annual crops; perennial crops; soil depth; climate change; biotechnology; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change is changing the precipitation patterns around the globe, leading to more extreme weather events like severe drought and heavy rainfalls. These events are intrinsically related to soil moisture fluctuations, which strongly modulates carbon fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems. LÄS MER
