  1. 1. Mikroskogen : dess betydelse och inverkan på framtidens skånska städer

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Matilda Hellwer; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Akira Miyawaki; mikroskog; micro forest; urban forestry; biologisk mångfald; upptag av luftföroreningar; dagvattenhantering; värmeöeffekt; naturens påverkan på hälsan; stressreducering; återhämtning; barns rörelsefrihet och upplevelse av natur; västerskog och inhemska arter;

    Sammanfattning : Uppsatsen har utvärderat mikroskogar planterade med Miyawakimetoden, skapad av japanen Akira Miyawaki, för att se om den är möjlig att använda i en skånsk urban kontext. Tre olika koncept har tagits fram genom litteratur, en fältstudie och intervjuer där mikroskogar testats för användning på bostadsgårdar, skolgårdar samt större kontor- och industriytor. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Differences in forest structure in relation to energy-efficient cookstoves in the Kakamega forest, Kenya

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Biologi

    Författare :Fanny Edenborg; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Rainforest; Energy-efficient cookstoves; forest structure; Kakamega forest; Kenya;

    Sammanfattning : Tropical forests are amongst the most important ecosystems in the world. It is also the biome estimated to experience the most rapid losses of habitats in the next 50 years, mainly due to anthropogenic exploitation. The Kakamega forest, western Kenya, is important both for conservation and human livelihood and is essential for peoples’ survival. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Planning for Viable Forests with High Biodiversity

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

    Författare :Anja Herdesang; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Anja Herdesang; Planning for Viable Forests with High Biodiversity; forestry; foresters; forester; biodiversity; ecosystem; forest; sustainability; extinction; speices; refinement; nature; clear-cut; cuts; monocultured; forests; alternative; concervation; enviromental laws; even-aged; continuous; silvicultural; wood products; cost-effectiveness; Protection; timber; pulp; production; forest owners; harvesting; red-listed; violations; protected; effective management; ecosystem responses; disturbance; Cross-disciplinary cooperation; climax and carrying capacity; index; describing the abiotic basic Prerequisites for Biodiversity APB ; guideline; trees connected; wildlife connectivity; continuity; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Agriculture and Food Sciences; Biology and Life Sciences; Cultural Sciences; Law and Political Science;

    Sammanfattning : In recent decades, the rate of extinction of species is increasing due to human use and refinement of nature. This has resulted in a large amount of research throughout the world. Forestry today is mostly based on clear cuts, and many natural forests have been cut down and replaced with monocultured forests. 4. 4. Degradation and restoration method interact to affect the performance of planted seedlings in tropical rainforest restoration : evidence from plant functional traits

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Julia Mellåker; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Dipterocarpaceae; enrichment planting; INIKEA; secondary rainforest; hjälpplantering; sekundär regnskog;

    Sammanfattning : A common action to improve or save biodiversity in the tropics is restoration of degraded rainforest. To understand the complex ecological structures of the forest and adapt the restoration actions after them, studies have focused on characterizing species with functional traits. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Tree species traits response to different canopy cover for 34 tree species in an enrichment planted tropical secondary rain forest in Sabah, Malaysia

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Li Videkull; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Climax species; crown growth; dbh growth; Dipterocarpaceae; forest rehabilitation; height growth; pioneer species; tree species traits; tropical rain forest; wood density; diametertillväxt; höjdtillväxt; klimaxarter; krontillväxt; pionjärarter; skogsrehabilitering; tropisk regnskog; trädslagsegenskaper; veddensitet;

    Sammanfattning : Tropical rain forests only cover around six percent of the world’s land area and contain around 70 % of the world´s animals and plants. Tropical rainforests have been, and still are, negatively affected by human activities. These activities lead to forest degradation which has negative impacts on production and biodiversity. LÄS MER
