  1. 1. Evaluating the Bluespot model with the August 2021 flood in Gävle, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Oskar Björklund; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Bluespot model; Urban Pluvial Flood Model; Fill Spill Merge Model; Gävle Flood 2021.;

    Sammanfattning : Floods are one of the most common types of natural disasters. They annually affect vast amounts of people and cause severe economic losses. While fluvial, coastal, and flash floods are well studied, pluvial floods (rain related) have received modest attention from researchers and decision-makers in comparison. LÄS MER

  2. 2. High tide flooding in near future projections for popular travel destinations

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :David Ebert; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem analysis; High tide flooding; Projections; Adaptation and mitigation strategies; Lunar precession; Nodal cycle; Cycle of lunar perigee; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : High tide flooding (HTF) is becoming more common in coastal regions of the United States, although this phenomenon remains largely undocumented in published literature from other parts of the world. No matter the emissions scenario over the next decades, sea level rise (SLR) is projected to continue worldwide until at least the end of the 21st century, continually pushing the frequency and severity of HTF. 3. 3. Mapping future floods in coastal Bangladesh - Impacts of projected changes in sea level and precipitation

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Agnes Pierre; [2022]
    Nyckelord :flood modelling; TFM-DYN; sea level rise; land subsidence; extreme precipitation; tidal flooding; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The exposure to flooding in coastal Bangladesh is expected to increase throughout the century as a result of climate change-induced sea level rise and intensified monsoon precipitation. The current consequences of flooding include damage to infrastructure, economy, and health through inundation and saline intrusion, and are likely to affect a larger population in the future. 4. 4. Urban infrastructure inundation risk from permanent sea-level rise scenarios in London (UK), Bangkok (Thailand) and Mumbai (India): A comparative analysis

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Shawn Pace; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; Climate Change; Sea-Level Rise; Urban Infrastructure; DEM; London; Mumbai; Bangkok; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Due to anthropogenically created climate change, global cities are facing inundation by rising sea levels. This study aimed to fill knowledge gaps in understanding the exposure of urban infrastructure such as roads, railways, buildings and parks to sea-level rise (SLR) scenarios, and how this would affect local populations. 5. 5. Analysis of floodplain population dynamics in the USA from 1790 to 2010

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Firoza Akhter; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Floodplain; levee; flood damage; flood insurance; population dynamics; population growth rate;

    Sammanfattning : Floodplain is an important location for the economic and social development of society throughout history, although it afflicted by different disasters like floods and bank erosion from time to time. Population dynamics and distribution trends have important effects on the landscape and society. LÄS MER
