  1. 1. INTERWEAVE - Food production interweaving with cultural programs, housing, and public places in Slakthusområdet, Stockholm.

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Stadsbyggnad

    Författare :Md Ratin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Slakthus; Incest farming; Vertical farming; Lab-based farming; Culture;

    Sammanfattning : Slakthusområdet, a historically significant slaughterhouse district in Stockholm, stands as a testament to the dynamic nature of urban landscapes, characterized by the relentless tide of rapid urban change. Over the years, this district has undergone multiple transformations, mirroring the shifting needs and aspirations of the city. LÄS MER

  2. 2. An alternative explanation for scale-free speed correlations in starling flocks: coarse-graining in time

    Master-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för fysik och elektroteknik (IFE)

    Författare :Mate Jagnjic; [2023]
    Nyckelord :scale-free correlations; active matter; starling flocks; coarse-graining;

    Sammanfattning : In a celebrated series of experimental observations, starling flocks have been shown to be characterized by scale-free, long-ranged spatial correlations in their velocity fluctuations. While this is expected for velocity orientation correlations on the basis of simple symmetry-breaking arguments, the same scaling-free behaviour for speed (i.e. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Topologica linteractions in a multi-layered flocking system

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Malin Liedholm; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Flock simulation; Topological interaction; Multi-layered flocking system; knearest neighbour; Boids; Unity3D; Flocksimulering; Topologisk interaktion; Flerskiktigt flockningssystem; knärmaste granne; Boids; Unity3D;

    Sammanfattning : With the multi-layered flocking system it is possible to simulate flocks that contain different types of agents that can be of various different sizes (variations in bounding radius and height). In the original implementation, the multi-layered flocking system uses a metric distance to find the nearest-neighbours of agents. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Protracted refugee humanitarian response as a context in the discourse on Localization: The case study of refugee protection in Uganda

    Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teologiska institutionen

    Författare :Geoffey Cloney Olwa; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Localization; discourse on localization; Protracted refugee response; Humanitarian response; critical localism;

    Sammanfattning : Around 2015, the humanitarian aid sector set out the localization agenda in motion. Embedded within The Grand Bargain, the localization agenda elevated the propensity for systems change within the humanitarian sector and calls for a greater inclusion of local actors have featured for some time in debates on how to make humanitarian action more efficient and address unequal power relations within the humanitarian system. 5. 5. Power Asymmetries in Humanitarian Aid : A Discourse Analysis of Power Hierarchies between European Citizen Aid Groups and Non-Western People on the Move

    Kandidat-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för globala politiska studier (GPS)

    Författare :Martine Dahl; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Humanitarian Aid; people on the move; Power Assymmetries; Racism; Eurocentrism; Postcolonialism; International Relations; Citizen Aid Groups; NGOs; migrants; refugees;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I investigate how three European citizen aid groups (Collective Aid, Refugee Women’s Centre, and No Name Kitchen) handle the asymmetrical power relationships between Western volunteers and non-Western people on the move. Inspired by postcolonial international relations literature and previous research on power asymmetries in humanitarian aid, I conduct a discourse analysis guided by the four categories “assuming equality through horizontal discourses”, “reconstituting social subjects”, “putting minds into motion”, and “civil disobedience”.
