    Sammanfattning : Miljonprogrammet är benämningen på ett statligt stöttat konstruktionsmål om 1 miljon bostäder på 10 år, under perioden 1965-1975. Innan miljonprogrammet upplevdes en kraftig befolkningstillväxt till följd av så kallade babybooms och hög arbetskraftsinvandring, en stor bostadsbrist, en låg standard på bostäder där många hushåll saknade utrustning som anses basal idag, en kraftig ekonomisk tillväxt med ökade realinkomster som ökade efterfrågan på bättre och rymligare boenden samt ett utbrett problem med trångboddhet.
