    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of the groundwater around the Aitik copper mine- one of Europe’s largest copper mine located 15 km outside of Gällivare, Sweden - as well the placement of the groundwater pipes around the area.     Sammanfattning : Sedimentary rock-hosted deposits are a major source of copper and cobalt, with the Neoproterozoic central African Copperbelt being among the largest Cu-Co provinces in the world, accounting for around 15% of its copper resource. The deposits occur primarily in the carbonates and siliciclastic sediments overlying the basement, and formed during early diagenesis (around 820 Ma) and late diagenesis/metamorphism during the Pan-African Orogeny (580-520 Ma).     Sammanfattning : Chile has been benefited from a commodity boom in the copper industry during the first decade of the 21st century. Does a mineral boom increase local labour opportunities? Can women get benefit from a resource boom? Can the mineral boom have indirect effects in non-mining sectors? The present paper attempts to explore and measure the impact of an exogenous increase in copper global prices between 2003 and 2011, on Chilean labor market, with a particular focus on gender disparities.
