1. Collaboration for Environmental Sustainability on Gotland, Sweden. Nature’s Blueprint: Biomimicry as a Potential Strategy.
Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och industriell teknikSammanfattning : This master's thesis explores the potential for collaboration among diverse actors on the island of Gotland to achieve environmental sustainability. The study employs the concept of biomimicry, utilising selected natural phenomena as a source of inspiration. LÄS MER
2. Evolutionary Properties of Neural Networks: Exploration of Robustness and Evolvability in the Genotype-Phenotype Map
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : Evolution is a fundamental and crucial part of life that hinges on two central properties: robustness and evolvability. Robustness is required to maintain essential traits despite mutations while evolvability produces novel traits that might prove beneficial in survival. LÄS MER
3. Feeding Behaviour in Loggerhead Sea Turtles (Caretta caretta) : Collection of Movement Data Representative of Feeding Events
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologiSammanfattning : With the different threats sea turtles are currently facing, such as habitat reduction and pollution, increase of fishing and harvesting of aquatic resources by Humans, or invasive species, it is important to learn as much as possible about their biology and behaviour in order to ensure the success of conservation programs. In this study, loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) feeding behaviour duration as well as energy expenditure approximation during a feeding event were tested and compared using two different types of food: green shore crabs (Carcinus maenas) or Japanese clam (Ruditapes phillipinarum) or Venus clams (Chamelea gallina). 4. Can the native shore crabs (Carcinus maenas) become a barrier to the invasion of the round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) in Öresund, southern Baltic Sea?
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i biologiSammanfattning : The round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) is a non-indigenous species to the Baltic Sea that has drawn the attention of many researchers in the last decade due to its rapid spreading and its impact on the local fauna. With recent concerns about the dispersal of the round goby towards the North Sea, the aim of this study was to determine if the native shore crab could compete with the invaders and prevent their advance. 5. Distribution of Meiofaunal biodiversity and abundance in relation to development stage of the Mangrove Forest
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i biologiSammanfattning : Mangrove ecosystems constitute a valuable economic resource harbouring a wide diversity of organisms and operating an essential provider of nutrients for adjoining marine ecosystems. The meiobenthic fauna (i.e. LÄS MER
