1. How is anticipation, as part of system resilience, operationalised on the flight deck, and to what extent does the regulation facilitate it?
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och SamhällssäkerhetSammanfattning : Resilience is a contemporary ‘hot topic’ in aviation - as well as in many other safety critical industries. The need for understanding resilience has been recognised since it has been noted that serious incidents and accidents are often related to very complex and unexpected situations and failures that cannot be managed with compliance, or which are not covered by existing procedures or checklists. 2.
Eight briefings and debriefings related to one airline’s training sessions were observed. The debriefings were recorded and transcribed. LÄS MER
5. Gliding an Airbus A320 - Simplicity-Complexity Trade-Off
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och SamhällssäkerhetSammanfattning : In the unlikely critical event of an Airbus A320 aeroplane suffering an all engines failure at cruising altitude, would the pilots be able to follow procedures and land safely on a reachable runway? Nine out of twelve simulations done during this research resulted in a crash when the pilots used only the Airbus procedures. Can the pilots make a safe landing on a runway after being taught and having practised judgment heuristics in addition to the manufacturer procedures? According to the sampled results in this research, they can. LÄS MER
