    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is the result of a research period at the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science of the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency, ISAS/JAXA within Funaki Laboratory of the Department of Space Flight Systems that followed the path of plume plasma diagnostics for space electric propulsion drives. During the experimental studies two high-current hollow cathodes and an innovative prototype of a low-voltage fully external discharge plasma thruster (XPT) had their plasma plumes diagnosed using electrostatic probes and retarding potential analyser (RPA). 2. 2. Development of Resistive MHD Code in Cylindrical Geometry and its Applications on EXTRAP T2R

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fusionsplasmafysik

    Författare :Cristian Gleason-González; [2012]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : A resistive magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) code is presented in detail for a cylindrical plasma column surrounded by a perfect conducting wall. The objective is to develop a full eigenvalue problem solver with resistive wall type boundary conditions that can be integrated into the feedback control algorithms of the EXTRAP T2R reversed field pinch (RFP).
