  1. 1. Engineering Rhodosporidium toruloides for the production of polyhydroxybutyrate

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi

    Författare :Tova Lindh; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Applied microbiology; Bioplastics; Rhodosporidium toruloides; Polyhydroxybutyrate; Non-conventional yeast; Oleaginous yeast; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The increased use of plastics has become an environmental problem where plastics, due to the slow degradation, accumulate in the oceans and landfills. Although plastics are a very cheap and useful material with desirable properties and a wide variety of applications, they are primarily made from petroleum-based resources which are non-renewable and of fossil origin. 2. 2. Identification of metabolite-protein interactions among enzymes of the Calvin Cycle in a CO2-fixing bacterium

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Emil Sporre; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Cupriavidus necator; chemolithoautotroph; limited proteolysis; Calvin Cycle; carbon fixation; proteomics; allosteric regulation; metabolite-protein interactions.;

    Sammanfattning : The Calvin – Benson cycle is the most widespread metabolic pathway capable of fixing CO2 in nature and a target of very high interest to metabolic engineers worldwide. In this study, 12 metabolites (ATP, AMP, NADP, NADPH, 2PG, 3PGA, FBP, RuBP, PEP, AKG, Ac-CoA and phenylalanine) were tested for protein – metabolite interactions against the proteome of Cupriavidus necator (previously Ralstonia eutropha) in the hopes of finding potential examples of allosteric regulation of the Calvin – Benson cycle. 3. 3. Investigation of growth modes of the lithoautotrophic bacterium Cupriavidus necator

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Författare :Raquel Perruca Foncillas; [2018]
    Nyckelord :applied microbiology; teknisk mikrobiologi; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The microorganism Cupriavidus necator is a very interesting bacterium that has been established as a model microorganism for its capability to produce polyhydroxyalkanoates, more specifically polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), a potential precursor/raw material for bioplastics. Lately, the scientific community has raised interest in the chemolithoautotrophic nature of C. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Construction and Characterization of 3rd Generation Saccharomyces cerevisiae Strains for PHB production form Xylose

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Författare :Pálína Haraldsdóttir; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Applied microbiology; Teknisk mikrobiologi; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Poly-3-D-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) is a biopolymer naturally produced by a range of bacterial species. PHB production both from glucose and xylose has also been enabled by engineering the robust baker’s yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, however yields remain low. In the present study, additional modifications were carried out in S. LÄS MER
