    Sammanfattning : Amyloid proteins are a group of proteins with the ability to form large fibrillar aggregates, identifiable by their cross-β core structure. These aggregates are linked to several different neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease and due to the growing rate of people diagnosed, there is a need to combat these diseases.     Sammanfattning : In order to maintain proteins’ functionality their native folding state must be preserved. Chaperones fold other proteins and DNAJ-chaperones may collaborate with Hsc70 chaperones to prevent aggregation of aggregation-prone peptides such as polyQ and Aβ42, which form fibrils in currently incurable diseases as Huntington’s and Alzheimer’s, respectively.
