  1. 1. Bootstrapping methods for assessing causality in survival analysis: A case study on major adverse cardiovascular events

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Paulina Benthem Ciano; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Causality; Graphical models; Bootstrap; Survival analysis; Additive hazards model.; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : The combination of graphical models with Aalen's additive hazards model, resulting in a model known as dynamical path analysis, permits assessing the effects of different variables on times until an event and decomposing these total effects into direct and indirect effects. This thesis proposes novel bootstrapping methods designed for left-truncated right-censored data, conditional on covariates within the framework of Aalen's additive hazards model, in order to obtain confidence intervals for the estimates. 2. 2. Forest regeneration and edge effects : an ecophysiological analysis after gap-cutting

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Tyra Tornberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Regeneration; Edge effects; Edge zone; Continuous cover forestry; Gap-cutting; Isotope analysis; 15N; Nitrogen; Carbon;

    Sammanfattning : As continuous cover forestry is an ongoing topic in todays forest debate, questions are raised about eventual issues connected to the management. It is known that seedling performance can be poor near the edge of harvested areas, and around retained trees. This is a critical issue in transitioning toward continuous cover forestry. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Banks' Adjustments to Basel III Capital Requirements : Empirical research on a sample of 359 banks between 2015 and 2021

    Magister-uppsats, Jönköping University/IHH, Företagsekonomi

    Författare :Andrea Hajnalka Csengoi; Nadia Ayadi; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Basel III; regulation; capital adequacy ratio; Global Financial Crisis;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Fifteen years after the Global Financial Crisis, and four years after the enactment of the Basel III Accord, our thesis aims to answer how banks adapted to the new capital requirements. The core objective of the Basel Committee of Banking Supervision was to improve regulation and supervision and address the previous legislation deficiencies. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Utveckling av bättre teknik för processen av rejekflödet i sågverk : En undersökning för att utse den metod som är lämpligast för att processa rejektflödet från justerverket i Karbenning

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Patrik Hagopian; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Optimization wood products; woodchips; reject flow; grading facility; investment calculation; layoutdesign; Optimering trävaror; träflis; rejektflöde; justerverk; investeringskalkyl; layoutbeskrivning;

    Sammanfattning : På sågverk behövs hetvatten för att kunna värma lokalerna, men även kunna torka träprodukterna. Majoriteten av uppvärmningen går till att torka träprodukterna. AB Karl Hedin i Karbenning producerar sitt eget hetvatten genom pannan på sågverket. Där behövs biobränsle i form av torrflis som bränns i ugnen. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Explainable Reinforcement Learning for Risk Mitigation in Human-Robot Collaboration Scenarios

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Alessandro Iucci; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Explainable Reinforcement Learning; Human-Robot Collaboration; Risk Mitigation; Reward Decomposition; Autonomous Policy Explanation; Collaborative Robots; Förklarbar förstärkningslärande; Mänskligt-robot-samarbete; Riskreducering; Reward Decomposition; Autonomous Policy Explanation; Samarbetsrobotar;

    Sammanfattning : Reinforcement Learning (RL) algorithms are highly popular in the robotics field to solve complex problems, learn from dynamic environments and generate optimal outcomes. However, one of the main limitations of RL is the lack of model transparency. This includes the inability to provide explanations of why the output was generated. LÄS MER
