  1. 6. Developing Common Questions about Integrated Product Service Engineering (IPSE), Ecodesign and Engineering Education

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Industriell Produktion; Linköpings universitet/Tekniska fakulteten; Linköpings universitet/Filosofiska fakulteten

    Författare :Uday Ahmed; Priscilla Ayo; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Integrated Product Service Engineering IPSE ; Ecodesign; sustainability; Engineering Education and Design for Environment;

    Sammanfattning : In the recent years, more and more manufacturing firms recognize the benefit of providing products together with related services with an aim to gain higher profits as compared to supplying products without additional services. On the other hand, the competition in the global markets has been increased dramatically through increased sales of services in order to gain additional value for their products. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Från bokomslag till digital bokbild: Materialitet, funktion och teknik på tröskeln till den digitala boken

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Förlags- och bokmarknadskunskap

    Författare :Shu-Chin Hysing; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Media History; Materiality; Digital Book Cover; E-book; Paratext; Publishing; Cultural Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this study is the digital representation of the book cover. It discusses the impact of technology on materiality and function of digital book covers based on theoretical perspectives from the materiality of the book, paratexts and media history. LÄS MER

  3. 8. THE NETHERLANDS AND FOREIGN TRADE EMBODIED ENERGY: A DECOMPOSITION ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL AND TECHNICAL EFFECTS

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen

    Författare :Rutger Armand Willem De Graaf; [2011]
    Nyckelord :Keywords: Energy; Foreign trade; Environmental Kuznets Curve; Dematerialization; Energy intensity; Social Sciences; Business and Economics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines whether there exists any causal relationship between foreign trade and declining energy intensity in the Netherlands. In other words, does the Netherlands outsource its energy intense industries to less developed countries rather than solve them internally? No significant causal relationships is found between international trade and declining energy intensity, since the Netherlands has long been a net exporter of embodied energy and continued to be so until 2005. 4. 9. ICT Design Unsustainability & the Path toward Environmentally Sustainable Technologies

    Magister-uppsats, Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Sektionen för datavetenskap och kommunikation

    Författare :Mohamed Bibri; [2009]
    Nyckelord :ICT; ICT design; Sustainable design; Environmental and corporate sustainability; Environmental impact; Dematerialization; De-carbonization; Recyclability; Resource depletion; Energy consumption; GHG emissions; Climate change; Toxic waste; Hazardous chemicals; Product lifecycle; Planned obsolescence; and Data centers.;

    Sammanfattning : This study endeavors to investigate the negative environmental impacts of the prevailing ICT design approaches and to explore some potential remedies for ICT design unsustainability from environmental and corporate sustainability perspectives. More specifically, it aims to spotlight key environmental issues related to ICT design, including resource depletion; GHG emissions resulting from energy-intensive consumption; toxic waste disposal; and hazardous chemicals use; and also to shed light on how alternative design solutions can be devised based on environmental sustainability principles to achieve the goals of sustainable technologies. 5. 10. Sustaining ICT for Sustainability : Towards Mainstreaming De–carbonization–oriented Design & Enabling the Energy–Efficient, Low Carbon Economy

    Master-uppsats, Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Sektionen för datavetenskap och kommunikation

    Författare :Mohamed Bibri; [2009]
    Nyckelord :ICT; Design; Sustainable design; Energy efficiency; Footprint; Emissions reductions; GHG; Climate change; Low carbon economy; Rebound effect; Systemic effect; Dematerialization; Digitization; De–carbonization; Transport; Buildings; Power generation; Industrial processes.;

    Sammanfattning : The study set out to understand and demonstrate the role the ICT sector could play as a critical enabler in the transition and progress towards an energy– efficient, low carbon economy. More specifically, the study of sustaining ICT for sustainability has twofold intent: (2) to investigate the direct footprint of ICT sector and explore how it can be tackled through adopting sustainable design–based solutions; and (2) to highlight the enabling potential of ICT sector to mitigate climate change and massively improve energy efficiency across the economy, identifying and quantifying the global ICT impacts and opportunities in the context of energy and carbon emissions savings.
