  2. 2. Simulation-based discrimination of Crab pulsar models with XL-Calibur

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Dennis Åkerström; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Astroparticle Physics; Astrophysics; Detector Physics; Simulation; Theoretical Physics; Engineering Physics; Pulsar models; Crab pulsar; Astropartikelfysik; Astropartikelfysik; Detektorfysik; Simulering; Teoretisk Fysik; Teknisk Fysik; Pulsar modeller; Krabbpulsaren;

    Sammanfattning : Polarisation of X-ray light is being investigated with polarimeters to extend the borders of what can be observed. Distant compact objects, such as pulsars, that are to small on the sky to be analysed with imaging can be investigated by analysing the polarisation of the emitted light. This can reveal physics previously hidden by their small nature. LÄS MER

The research question is as follows: Are refugees from the Syrian civil war represented differently in Swedish news media compared to refugees from the conflict in Ukraine—and (if so) how? In order to address this question, a discourse analysis was conducted on two articles from Aftonbladet and two articles from Svenska Dagbladet using Carol Bacchi's analytical method, "What's the problem represented to be?" The study concludes that the research question is answered, as there is a weak pattern suggesting a difference in representation based on the conflict. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Identifying Graph Characteristics in Growing Vascular Networks

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad beräkningsvetenskap

    Författare :Christopher Finn Plummer; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Anigogenesis; Vascular Networks; Network Science;

    Sammanfattning : One of the ways that a vascular network grows is through the process of angiogenesis, wherebya new blood vessel forms as a branch from an existing vessel towards an area which isstimulating vascular growth. Due to the demands for nutrients and waste transport, growingtumour cells will access the surrounding vascular network by inducing angiogenesis. LÄS MER
