  1. 1. Hydrologic modelling of the Zackenberg river basin : an applied study using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Malin Ahlbäck; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Greenland; SWAT; High Arctic; Distributed Hydrologic Modelling; GIS; surface Water; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Since the 1980s, the Arctic has experienced an amplified warming of more than twice the rate of the global-mean, leading to large-scale changes in the Arctic hydrologic system, ultimately having cascading feedbacks on the global climate. However, few of today’s distributed models manage to capture the complex processes in Arctic hydrology, and therefore, the aim of this thesis was to evaluate the usage of the distributed Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model, to see whether it could capture the different surface water paths and processes characterizing the Arctic water cycle. 2. 2. Rainfall-Runoff Simulation and Modelling Using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS Models: Case Studies from Nepal and Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Jeevika Khadka; Jagritee Bhaukajee; [2018]
    Nyckelord :HEC-HMS; HEC-RAS; Kankai; Kävlinge; Rainfall Runoff; Flood Inundation; Modelling; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Floods are probably the most frequent, widespread and disastrous hazards of the world. Almost every year, Sweden and Nepal are affected by floods though their nature and impact differs due to complete different geographical and hydrological setting. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Soil moisture modelling using TWI and satellite imagery in the Stockholm region

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Geodesi och geoinformatik

    Författare :Jan Haas; [2010]
    Nyckelord :TWI; TVDI; soil moisture;

    Sammanfattning : Soil moisture is an important element in hydrological land-surface processes as well as land atmosphere interactions and has proven useful in numerous agronomical, climatological and meteorological studies. Since hydrological soil moisture estimates are usually point-based measurements at a specific site and time, spatial and temporal dynamics of soil moisture are difficult to capture. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Utveckling och tillämpning av en GIS-baserad hydrologisk modell

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Ida Westerberg; [2005]
    Nyckelord :GIS; distributed hydrologic modelling; Lake Mälaren catchment; PCRaster;

    Sammanfattning : A distributed hydrological rainfall-runoff model has been developed using a GIS integrated with a dynamic programming module (PCRaster). The model has been developed within the framework of the EU-project TWINBAS at IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, and is intended for use in WATSHMAN – a tool for watershed management developed at IVL. 5. 5. Estimation of the soil moisture distribution in the Tamne River Basin, Upper East Region, Ghana

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Per Asserup; Martin Eklöf; [2000]
    Nyckelord :physical geography; soil Moisture; wetness index; topography; hydrological modelling; GIS; geographical information systems; geomorphology; pedology; cartography; climatology; naturgeografi; geomorfologi; marklära; kartografi; klimatologi; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Northern Ghana experiences one dry season per year, but severe droughts may occur more infrequently. This is of concern to the local farmers of the Tamne River Basin (northeast Ghana) who depend on adequate rainfall amounts during the rainy season. Unfavourable precipitation amounts may lead to catastrophic consequences. LÄS MER
