1. Techniques for characterization and quantification analysis of foulant deposition in Alfa Laval’s high-speed separators : A literature study
Kandidat-uppsats,Sammanfattning : Alfa Laval is a global company that provides solutions, products, and services for industry, such as high-speed separators for marine and food-application. Foulant deposition on the stainless-steel surfaces of Alfa Laval’s high-speed separators has shown to result in lowering of the separation efficiency. LÄS MER
2. Tribological testing of DLC coatings for automotive applications
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Tillämpad materialvetenskapSammanfattning : In this work, the friction and wear behavior of three DLC coatings was evaluated in various conventional and alternative fuels as well as in commercially available formulated engine oils and additive-free synthetic oil. The first DLC has a thin top-coating of hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H), the second consists of Si-doped DLC (a-C:H:Si) and the third is a W-doped multilayered structure of a-C:H and a-C:H:W. 3. Composition, properties and surface structure of tribochemically deposited coatings
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Tillämpad materialvetenskapSammanfattning : Five tribochemically deposited coatings on honed cast iron cylinder liner segments has been studied with respect to surface properties, material composition, coating thickness, hardness and friction. Methods like Light Optical Microscopy (LOM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), 3D topography using white light interferometry (VSI) and Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (ESCA) were used to study the surface, coating thickness and material composition. 4. Controlled interlayer between titanium carbon-nitride and aluminiumoxide
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Institutionen för materialkemiSammanfattning : In the industry of metal cutting tools the conditions are extreme; the temperature can vary thousand degrees rapidly and the pressure can be tremendously high. To survive this kind of stress the cutting tool must be both hard and tough. In order to obtain these properties different coatings are used on a base of cemented carbide, WC-Co. LÄS MER
