  1. 1. Impact of the EU Battery Regulation on Circular Economy of EV Batteries- barriers and opportunities for battery repurposing

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Yi Chun Lin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Battery waste management; EU regulation; repurposing; circular business models; End-of-life EoL batteries; Recycling; Hantering av batteriavfall; EU-förordning; Återanvändning; Cirkulära affärsmodeller; uttjänat batterier; Återvinning;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a comprehensive exploration of the impact of EU battery regulations, Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, on end-of-life batteries, focusing on repurposing within the supply chain. We used both surveys and interviews to gather qualitative data from the stakeholders in the battery supply chain. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Reinforcement learning for EV charging optimization : A holistic perspective for commercial vehicle fleets

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Enzo Alexander Cording; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Deep Reinforcement Learning; EV charging optimization; Artificial Intelligence; Commercial vehicle fleets; Electric vehicles; Deep Reinforcement Learning; optimering av elbilsladdning; artificiell intelligens; kommersiella fordonsflottor; Elektriska fordon;

    Sammanfattning : Recent years have seen an unprecedented uptake in electric vehicles, driven by the global push to reduce carbon emissions. At the same time, intermittent renewables are being deployed increasingly. These developments are putting flexibility measures such as dynamic load management in the spotlight of the energy transition. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Greening the grid of Indonesia - Second life application for Lithium-Ion Electric Vehicle batteries in Indonesia’s Energy System

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Innovation

    Författare :Felix Kruse; Paula Runsten; [2023]
    Nyckelord :electrification; battery repurposing; renewable energy; net-zero emissions; energy storage systems; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : With the increasing energy demand from urban electrification, the growing economy and global warming, Indonesia has some extensive challenges ahead. Additionally, growing demand for Li-ion batteries is causing shortages of virgin battery minerals in parallel with the increasing demand for energy storage to accommodate electrification. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Look under the Hood: Green Cars - Red Batteries : A human rights approach on the expanded demand of Electric Cars in the run for carbon neutrality and renewable transportation

    Master-uppsats, Enskilda Högskolan Stockholm/Avdelningen för mänskliga rättigheter och demokrati

    Författare :Johanna Palmgren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Just Transition; Power Structures; Sustainable Development; Global South Global North; EV industry;

    Sammanfattning : The climate crisis is an urgent threat towards people and planet, and rapid changes are needed to decarbonize the planet. The energy sector is in a current transition to renewable-based energy, which also includes a shift to electric cars. Electric cars are motivated to be the future, which will be beneficial for the economy and the environment. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Developments Towards High-Resolution Muonic Atom X-ray Spectroscopy of Low-Z Elements : For precision measurements of absolute nuclear charge radii

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Högenergifysik

    Författare :Benjamin Verbeek; [2023]
    Nyckelord :muon physics; subatomic physics; charge radius; nucleus; lithium; silicon drift detector; microcalorimeter;

    Sammanfattning : This Master's thesis investigates a method to measure atomic nuclei with record precision using muonic atom X-ray spectroscopy. In particular, 6Li is measured experimentally. The method used is independent from the previous most precise measurement of the 6Li nuclear charge radius which uses electron scattering. LÄS MER
