1. Making the connection : Are post-tensioned CLT walls an economically sound option?
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Uppsala universitet/Byggteknik och byggd miljöSammanfattning : This thesis aims to compare the cost of post-tensioned connection systems with conventional connections for the transferal of uplift forces in CLT stabilising walls. The desire for taller timber buildings has increased over time, in part due to environmental aspects but also to meet demands from an urbanizing population. LÄS MER
2. REDUNDANT FIRMWARE TEST SETUP IN SIMULATION AND HARDWARE: A FEASIBILITY STUDY
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för innovation, design och teknikSammanfattning : A reliable embedded real-time system has many requirements to fulfil. It must meet target deadlines in a number of situations, most of them in a situation that puts heavy stress on the system. LÄS MER
3. Modeling the complex ejecta on 2017 September 6-9 with WSA-ENLIL+Cone and EUHFORIA
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi; Uppsala universitet/Institutet för rymdfysik, UppsalaavdelningenSammanfattning : Three CMEs which erupted on 2017 Sep 4 and 6 underwent mutual interaction before reaching Earth on Sep 6-9, where it gave rise to a complex and unexpectedly geoeffective structure as detected by WIND at L1. The spacecraft first observed an interplanetary (IP) shock on Sep 6 followed by a turbulent sheath. LÄS MER
4. Comparison of the shock arrival times for Earth-directed ICMEs provided by the WSA-Enlil+Cone model and in-situ observations at L1: A Case Study
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi; Uppsala universitet/Institutet för rymdfysik, UppsalaavdelningenSammanfattning : A case study which examines the agreement between prediction and data is performed for three, complex interplanetary shocks which were detected at the Sun-Earth Lagrange point L1 and induced moderate to intense geomagnetic storms. We use model output from previous runs of the coupled coronal-heliosphere WSA-Enlil+Cone model, available through the Community Coordinated Modeling Center (CCMC), and in-situ data from the OMNI data set. 5. Case Study of Uncertainties Connected to Long-term Correction of Wind Observations
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapsläraSammanfattning : Good knowledge about on-site wind climate is necessary in wind power assessments. Due to yearly and natural variability, short-term on-site measurements do not themselves give information about the wind climate. Long-term reference data can be used to correct the short-term observations to better correspond to a normal year. LÄS MER
