1. Simulation-based discrimination of Crab pulsar models with XL-Calibur
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : Polarisation of X-ray light is being investigated with polarimeters to extend the borders of what can be observed. Distant compact objects, such as pulsars, that are to small on the sky to be analysed with imaging can be investigated by analysing the polarisation of the emitted light. This can reveal physics previously hidden by their small nature. LÄS MER
2. Juice/JDC ion measurement perturbations caused by spacecraft charging in the solar wind and Earth’s magnetosheath
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomiSammanfattning : In July 2031, a new chapter in the exploration of the Jovian system will begin with the arrival of the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (Juice) at Jupiter. Launched on April 14 2024 as part of ESA’s Cosmic Vision programme, the mission aims to study Jupiter and its icy Galilean moons Callisto, Europa, and Ganymede. LÄS MER
3. Gas Chromatographic Method Development for Analysis of Samples from a Carbon Capture Pilot Plant
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)Sammanfattning : In response to the escalating threat of climate change, carbon capture and storage have gained increasing attention as an important component in mitigating the global carbon dioxide emissions. Substantial research efforts have focused on enhancing the energy efficiency and availability of these technologies. LÄS MER
4. Analysis of Atmospheric Muon Bundles with IceCube
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/HögenergifysikSammanfattning : This work is a preliminary study of the background of a search for dark, long-lived particles in the IceCube detector. The high flux of atmospheric muons in IceCube is considered background to the detector's primary science goal, which is to detect astrophysical neutrinos through the emission of Cherenkov radiation. 5. Reconstruction of Radio Detector Data using Graph Neural Networks
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/HögenergifysikSammanfattning : The current neutrino detectors have been able to detect neutrinos in the range of TeV to 100 PeV, however, ultra high energy (UHE) neutrinos above 100 PeV still remain to be detected. A new neutrino detector, the RNO-G, is currently being constructed in Greenland with the purpose of detecting the first UHE neutrinos using radio antennas capable of measuring the Askaryan pulse generated after a neutrino interaction with the ice molecules.
