  1. 11. Continuous Hydrothermal Co-liquefaction of Biomass : An experimental study on the effects of fuel mixing on the composition and yield of biocrude and hydrochar

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Författare :Simon Fridolfsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :HTL; TGA; SEM EDS; Co-liquefaction effects; GROT; Kraft lignin; Microalgae;

    Sammanfattning : An experimental study on the effect of fuel mixing on the products resulting from hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) was conducted. The feedstocks used were kraft lignin (KL), GROT (GT) and microalgae cultivated in wastewater (MA). Three sets of mixtures were prepared, each containing two types of feedstocks with a 1:1 ratio: KLGT, MAKL, and MAGT. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Phase and Interface Design in Potential Earth-Abundant Multi-Component Photocatalysts

    L3-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiska institutionen

    Författare :David Llorens Rauret; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Facet control; in-situ TEM; nanoparticle heterostructures; phase transformation; transition metal phosphides; inorganic nanomaterials; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Transition metal phosphides are low-cost, earth-abundant semiconductors with promising properties for photocatalysis, including water-splitting. When combined with other semiconductors or noble metals in nanoparticles, their photocatalytic performance can be drastically enhanced. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Multi-spectral X-ray imaging with a laser-plasma accelerator

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Andrea Angella; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Multi-spectral imaging; single-photon counting; X-ray absorption spectroscopy; XAS; LWFA; laser-wakefield acceleration; K-edge; imaging; metal-detection algorithm; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This master thesis focuses on the creation of an algorithm to perform multispectral imaging of a metallic target using X-rays. The generation of an ultrashort high-power low-divergent X-ray beam is performed by means of a Ti:Sapphire laser driven wake-field plasma accelerator. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Polymerized Tubular Silicates in Lower Cambrian Carbonates – Biology or Chemistry?

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Scott Green; [2022]
    Nyckelord :biosignature; tubular structures; Lower Cambrian; silica precipitation; bifurcating; biosignatur; rörstrukturer; Kambrium Serie 3; kiseldioxid utfällning; förgrening;

    Sammanfattning : Shallow marine environments from the Lower Cambrian period were very different to shallow marine environments of today. Tubes of what was thought to be silica recovered from a partly dolomitized carbonate sample collected form a site near Indian Springs, Nevada could help further understand the chemistry and characteristics of such environments. 5. 15. Characterization of surface defects caused by ultrasonic cleaning of aluminium

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap

    Författare :Emanuel Eriksson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Ultrasonic cleaning; surface cleaning; metal; aluminium; 7050; 2050; defects; surface defects; Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy; Scanning Electron Microscopy; Vertical Scanning Interferometry;

    Sammanfattning : This master thesis studies the behaviour of two aluminium alloys in ultrasonic cleaning at two different intensities, as well as the effect of a cleaning solution, Formula 815 GD-NF on the same surface have been studied with respect to surface roughness and material composition. Methods like Light Optical Microscopy (LOM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) and 3D topography using white light interferometry (VSI) was used to study the surface and material composition.
