  1. 1. The impact of CO2 fertilisation on foliage in West and East Africa

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Gaetane Demyttenaere; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physical geography and ecosystem analysis; CO2 fertilisation; semi-arid ecosystems; remote sensing; Normalised Difference Vegetation Index; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Anthropogenic impact on terrestrial ecosystems continues to grow as we further enhance atmospheric Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) concentrations. The changing climatic conditions and direct influence of CO₂ on vegetation has a big impact on ecosystem functions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Post-Fire Vegetation Recovery Monitoring using MODIS Time Series: A Case Study in California

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Geoinformatik

    Författare :Julia Edje; [2023]
    Nyckelord :vegetation recovery; MODIS; HRT; EVI; fire; burn severity; land cover; climate zone; California;

    Sammanfattning : Human-caused forest fires have increased in magnitude and frequency, affecting global vegetation and requiring a re-evaluation of fire regimes. Changing fire regimes have led to reduced burned areas in fire- dependent ecosystems and increased areas in fire-independent ecosystems, resulting in changes in land cover and posing a threat to native plant communities. 3. 3. Changes in July albedo and its relationship with EVI over the last two decades in the Swedish alpine region

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Vera Grönvik Hende; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Shortwave albedo; Enhanced Vegetation Index EVI ; Alpine vegetation; Scandes; Surface albedo feedback; MODIS; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Vegetation in the subarctic is expected to respond to climate warming as its growth becomes less temperature limited. This has previously been recorded in the form of treeline advances and increasing shrub cover. Changes in vegetation cover may accelerate warming due to a decrease in summer albedo, in what is termed surface albedo feedback. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Spatial downscaling of gridded soil moisture products using optical and thermal satellite data: the effects of using different vegetation indices

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Tómas Halldórsson Alexander; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis; Remote Sensing; Soil moisture; Downscaling; Vegetation index; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Soil moisture (SM) plays an important role in the exchange of heat and water between the surface and atmosphere, impacting water and energy cycles and the climate. Satellite remote sensing offers a global-scale estimation of SM; however, the coarse resolutions of satellite SM products, typically ranging from 25-50 km, are unsuitable for regional analysis. 5. 5. Tidig detektering avgranbarkborreangrepp med hjälp avfjärranalys via Sentinel-2

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Gävle/Datavetenskap

    Författare :Najm Eddin Eid; Petter Jakobsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Remote sensing; Sentinel-2; spruce bark beetle; spruce forest; vegetation analysis; vegetation index; band combinations; image analysis.; Fjärranalys; Sentinel-2; granbarkborre; granskog; vegetationsanalys; vegetationsindex; bandkombinationer; bildanalys.;

    Sammanfattning : Granbarkborre är en av Sveriges mest destruktiva skadeinsekter som angriper granskog. Insekten har medfört förödande konsekvenser för granskog, framför allt sedan2018 där stora arealer granskog nästan har eliminerats. Insekten trivs i varmt ochtorrt klimat. LÄS MER
