6. Evaluating a new hydraulic implementation in LPJ-GUESS for three sites in north Europe
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Drought is projected to increase in frequency and intensity and impacts trees with increased water stress and increased mortality rate. Water stresses can cause hydraulic failure-related mortality or carbon starvation due to tree species having different strategies to deal with water stresses. LÄS MER
7. Assessing the relation between temperature buffering, soil moisture, and canopy cover in a Swedish coniferous forest
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografiSammanfattning : Forests buffer temperature extremes through processes such as canopy shading, wind speed reduction, and evapotranspiration. As a result, microclimates are formed within forests whose climatic conditions are distinctly different from the surrounding macroclimate. LÄS MER
8. Modelling the Effects of Climate Change on Future DOC Export to Lake Mälaren Using a Generalized Watershed Loading Functions (GWLF) Model
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Browning of boreal freshwaters due to an increased export of terrestrial dissolved organic carbon (DOC) has been observed for some decennia. Drivers include recovery from acid deposition and changing climate and land cover. LÄS MER
10. Groundwater modeling of Krycklan catchment and evaluation of the groundwater discharge distribution
Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : This thesis aimed to evaluate the groundwater discharge distribution in the Krycklan catchment by developing a groundwater flow model using COMSOL Multiphysics and assuming a topography- controlled groundwater surface. Previous research has shown that the groundwater surface can be modeled as a subdued replica of the topography in humid climate regions where the permeability of the subsurface is low and where the groundwater surface is shallow.
