1. Diving Deep: Seabird foraging tactics and local prey field
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. Of Aquatic ResourcesSammanfattning : Foragers in patchy environments need to decide what patches to use and how to allocate their time between them. Optimal foraging theory describes these choices through the relationship between energy expenditure and energy gain. LÄS MER
2. Population aging and healthcare - applying estimators to the projected future of Sweden
Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för nationalekonomi med statistikSammanfattning : This paper presents an empirical study on the effects of an aging population on a country's healthcare expenditure. The long-term trend of decreasing fertility rates and increased life expectancy results in a larger share of older people with greater demand for healthcare. LÄS MER
3. Flexible Sector Coupling (FSC) of Electrical and Thermal Sectors via Thermal Energy Storage (TES) : A Case Study on Oskarshamn Energi
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : The integration of distributed energy sources and systems is of high relevance for the transition towards a more sustainable energy system. Taking into consideration the amount of emissions produced by the heating sector, which account for at least half of the energy demand in buildings, district heating systems have the potential to play a key role in the transition, by enabling the integration of various energy sources and provide flexible energy services to the grid. 4. Investigating the influence of the tidal regime on harbour porpoise Phocoena phocoena distribution in Mount’s Bay, Cornwall
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Investigating the influence of the tidal regime on harbour porpoise Phocoena phocoena distribution in Mount’s Bay, Cornwall Abstract Unintentional by-catch in fishing gear is a significant cause of mortality of harbour porpoises in UK waters. Understanding the spatial distribution of harbour porpoises at fine scales and how this changes over time is essential when trying to understand where these lethal interactions might occur. LÄS MER
5. The dynamic effects of fiscal consolidations on income distribution: evidence for Spain over 1980-2020
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionenSammanfattning : Based on the Spain’s annual and quarterly time series from 1980 to 2020, this paper presents the first case study on the dynamic effects of fiscal consolidation episodes on income distribution and the mechanisms driving the specific dynamics of the distribution. By estimating impulse response functions via Local Projections by Jordà (2005), I find supportive evidence of the increase in income inequality in the aftermath of consolidation episodes. LÄS MER
