  1. 1. Co-evolutional anaylsis of the Na+,K+-ATPase’s β-subunit dimerization

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Sebastian Bauer; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Na ; K -ATPase NKA ; Co-evolution; Dimerization; Direct coupling analysis DCA ; Molecular dynamic MD simulation; Contact filtering; Mapping; Na ; K -ATPas NKA ; Samevolution; Dimerisering; Direkt kopplingsanalys DKA ; Molekylär dynamisk MD simulering; Kontaktfiltrering; Kartläggning;

    Sammanfattning : Does the active membrane transporter, Na+,K+-ATPase dimerize? If it does, whatis the functional benefit? Does it increase or decrease the turnover rate? Theseare still unanswered questions and current research topics. Previous studies havedemonstrated dimerizations in closely related proteins of the P-type ATPase family. LÄS MER

  2. 2. In Vitro Assessment of Novel Compounds as Potential Pan-Coronavirus Therapeutics in SARS-CoV-2 and In Vitro Assessment of a Pan-Flavivirus Compound in Zika Virus

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Författare :Julia Berger; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Human coronavirus; active protease inhibitors; drug discovery; 3CLpro; Zika virus; flavivirus inhibitor; NS2B-NS3;

    Sammanfattning : Through the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, it has become clear that the development of antivirals is essential for the health and wellbeing of the population. In this study, novel active site protease inhibitors against SARS-CoV-2 were tested for their inhibitory activity against the viral 3-Chymotrypsin like protease through the means of FRET based enzymatic assays. 3. 3. Building a Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) instrument followed bytesting the boundaries of FRET-FCS

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Författare :Isabell Weinberg-Krakowski; Evelina Stenseth; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding biological systems oftentimes requires mapping the behaviors of biomolecules on small scales such as single proteins or nucleic acids. Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) is a group of particularly noninvasive and sensitive fluorescence-based techniques that can be used for this purpose. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Microscopic and Macroscopic Samples of Atoms in Superposition States Studied by Attosecond Pulses

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Axel Stenquist; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Mathematical physics; Theoretical physics; Atomic physics; Attosecond physics; Ultra-fast physics; Numerical simulations; Microscopic; Mesoscopic; Macroscopic; Superposition; Light matter interaction; Quantum mechanics; Electromagnetism; Semiclassical; Attosecond transient absorption spectroscopy; ATAS; Förster resonance; FRET; Two-atom model; Inter-atomic interaction; Dipole-dipole interaction; Many-atom model; Collective coherent effects; Time-dependent configuration-interaction singles; TDCIS; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In the present thesis, the interaction between atoms in superposition states and attosecond pulses is studied from the microscopic to the macroscopic regime. Using a semi-classical framework, three different models have been explored in order to investigate attosecond light--matter interaction processes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fluorescent fusion proteins as probes to characterize tau fibril polymorphism

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Kemi

    Författare :Max Lindberg; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Alzheimer’s disease AD ; amyloids; FRET; tau; MAPT; fibrillation kinetics; seeding; fusion protein; EGFP; ECFP; EYFP; ThT; X-34; BTD14;

    Sammanfattning : Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a large and growing problem and while we today lack a full understanding of this disease, we know that the protein tau and the amyloid fibrils it forms play a central role in its development. We also know that these fibrils can have different morphologies in different diseases and that fibrils produced in vitro not necessarily adopt any of the morphologies found in patients. LÄS MER
